First Time Out!

We have fullfilled a big dream of ours ~ new travel trailer. We took it out this weekend and it is all we had hoped! We did pick a campground with all the amenities ( they delivered pizza)! We are looking forward to many weekends and vacations for now and then hit the retirement road!!

Grandchildren

One Year

It works! This year as I was enjoying a lovely, relaxing day at the lake, I thought what did we do last year on Labor Day?!? I later thought I had started this blog last year before we went on vacation in Sept, so I went back and there was Labor Day 2009! It was a good one as was this year. I will put it here so next year when I can't remember hopfully I will know where to look.

Jacob and Jeffrey spent the night while Seth and Angie went on to Little Rock for a wedding, We enjoyed them so much and they enjoyed Fun Acre!
We spent Labor Day on Table Rock Lake. It was such a beautiful weekend, I wonder how I could forget it!

The "Islands"

I am not a fan of beaches, as most know, but I love to look at them from a distance! So since we were going to be so close to the ocean we thought we would stay one night on St Simons Island. I have enjoyed the Eugenia Price books which are about life there. But as I looked and planned for the trip it seemed the best option was Jekyll Island to the south. Turns out it was the best choice and would have loved to stayed another day! You can have your car on the island but then most people ride bikes. Some of our best meals where there and it was the most relaxing.
This is the Beachview Club a great place to stay and close to the beach. A wedding was under way right outside our door. There were the most beautiful oak trees, old and bent by the wind
St Simons was very commercial and being the bigger island the most crowded. But this is what we did while on St Simons. Eat and take pictures of the Lighthouse
Tybee Island was the last. And again all we did was eat and take pictures of the Lighthouse! Buss did climb the lighthouse all 178 steps up! I waited in the truck!

Savannah

We have been here for 2 days, walked a lot, eaten a lot and having a wonderful time. I have taken a lot of pictures but mostly landscapes and houses! We stopped at St Simons Island on the way here and tomorrow we are going to Tybee Island. Went to Paula Deens yesterday ~ she wasn't there! Did see Forrest Gump though!

6 States in 1 Day

So no time for pictures! But we are in Macon GA! Tomorrow we will going to St Simons Island and Jekyll Island.
It was a good trip and we did decide we are going home on a more Nothern Route to avoid Atlanta and all parts therein!  When we checked in tonight there was a family in the lobby wearing  Mizzou shirts! That was an "OK Where am I moment". Should have beach photos for tomorrow.

Spring

Started off cold and icey! But got me in the mood to paint! I had been putting if off for weeks! Painting is always a good idea and always looks good when it is done but the inbetween is hard! Hubby always has done the painting before but this project was mine ~ he would help but I had to get it started. So we picked out the color on Friday night. And started on Saturday morning while it snowed outside!

Now we just have Tile, Wood Floor and general rearrange. You know how one thing leads to a million others! But should be great when it is all done and then we will be ready for summer on the patio!

Where did the time go and Where have I been!

Due to some technical problems I have been unable to download pictures from my camera. But my patient Hubby has bailed be out again! Thank You Dear!  So where I left off ~ We celebrated our last Christmas in January with Seth, Angie, Jacob and Jeffrey. It was fun and kind of nice to have another one! It was also nice to have them for a visit.

All I can remember about Feb is the bad weather! But there were some good moments. Allison made a spectacular cake for Marks birthday. She made all of the wine labels by hand. We stood back admired it and then started eating it! She is also a good cook!

Grant turned 15 and is now driving! He is hard to pin down for a picture so all I have is his cake! And it went quickly!

We missed Jacobs Birthday but he turned 5 anyway and we sure missed helping him celebrate!

So that was Feb.

2010

This is January 3 2010. I welcome it partly because I am glad to have December gone. As joyful as December can be and we did have some great moments, it was painful. A dear old friend lost her only daughter in a car accident, the lady who hired me died after a long painful struggle with cancer, another friend fell ill at Thanksgiving and passed on New Years Eve. It could be part of getting older but it doesn't make it easier. Then I have had my old persons Shingles and I know I shouldn't complain but it does crazy things to my head! So with all of that behind I will look ahead and as always hope for the best.
Brad Smith just had a terrific run on Sunday Night Football so I guess all is right with the world and maybe New Orleans will win the Super Bowl!

Christmas 2009 part III

Hard to believe I might forget this one but I am going to write it all down anyway!
We had a lovely Christmas Eve with Mark and family. Joy and Allsion outdid themselves with a Leg of Lamb dinner. After gifts we watched The Christmas Story and that is our Christmas Eve tradition.

We didn't put up a tree or many decorations this year
but Santa did find a spot for our gifts and we had a lovely Christmas morning. It turned out to be a good thing it was simple this year as I was still not back to normal.

But we still went to Illinois for Christmas ar Home! Because of the snow not everyone made it this year and that was disappointing. But it was good and that is Christmas tradition!

So Christmas 2009 has come and gone. The next one seems so far away and yet soon this one will be a distant memory!
